An engagement session is the first time a couple sees themselves photographed together as a couple. It is unhurried, it happens where you already feel at home, and it sets the tone for everything that follows.
A rehearsal for being seen.
Most couples have never been photographed properly together. An engagement session removes that unfamiliarity long before the wedding day, so the camera is no longer something to think about when it matters most.
It also gives you photographs you can actually use — for the invitation, the website, the welcome table, and for the years in between.
The city, then the coast.
A session usually moves through two or three settings in a single afternoon: streets and doorways where the light is quiet, then somewhere open — a harbour, a coastline, a garden. The change of scenery is what keeps the pictures from looking staged.
For couples marrying away from home, the session is often the reason to arrive a day earlier. It becomes part of the journey rather than an appointment.

Christel arranges the session alongside the wedding planning: photographer, locations, timing with the light, and what to wear so the two of you sit well together in the frame.
It is one afternoon, and it is the easiest part of the whole process.
